Medicoo app
An accessible tool for digital GP care.
The pressure on GP care is increasing, largely due to the ageing of our society and the shortage of healthcare personnel. The company Medicinfo has been responding to this for years with what they call 'hybrid care': digital solutions in which regular care is supported remotely with online care. The Medicoo app is one of these solutions, and offers patients an easy and accessible tool for digital general practitioner care.
Medicoo: the online general practitioner
The Medicoo app serves as an online GP service for anyone who has a medical question. Using the app, patients can get in touch quickly and easily with an extensive team of nurses, GPs and medical specialists. This can be done via a live chat in the app and the option to do an online consultation. The first part of the triage process has been digitised in the app: users first answer a number of automated questions in the app which are tailored to the complaint. This gives Medicinfo a clear idea of the medical issue, and allows them to help users on their way very quickly.
Less pressure on GPs
With Medicoo, the majority of all incoming care questions can be answered digitally by a team of nurses and GPs. This reduces the pressure on practice-based GPs. The app also offers a solution when it comes to peak times in healthcare. In the summer, for example, the pressure on GPs in provinces such as Zeeland increases due to the enormous influx of tourists. Thanks to Medicoo, a large proportion of medical cases are dealt with easily: for example, the majority of tourist cases don’t have to come to the practice, which saves GPs a lot of extra work.
We have had many different apps developed, of which Medicoo is one. At Medicinfo, we know what patients need, but we don't always have the technical knowledge to develop apps efficiently. Innovattic do! They have therefore helped us to convert our existing apps to a new platform - one which is truly future-proof. This all had to be done very quickly, and Innovattic were a great choice for us. Together we have developed a future-proof, digital platform, of which we are very proud!
