Everyone is smiling on a study day

The summer holidays have flown by. And for many parents, that means their diaries are once again full of (extra)school activities. Sports, days out, study days, there is something to do almost every week. Especially when there are several children in a family, the overview of all activities is sometimes hard to find. Studiedagenradar was set up to relieve parents and to ensure that children can take part in as many fun activities as possible. And to our team the honour of developing a brand new website for them.

Unburdening parents

Study days always felt like a mini-holiday. The day off was filled with a fun extracurricular activity. Only for parents, getting their children to participate in these extracurricular activities is often a lot of hassle and pricey. Therefore, the new Studiedagenradar website needed to make it very easy for parents to see which extracurricular activities are available in their region on the study day in question. Some activities can even be booked with an extra discount when showing the Amsterdam City Pass. This way, even parents who are less well-off can still give their children a great day out. The result: happy children and happy parents.

Register in a few clicks

When we designed this website, we made searching for suitable activities as easy as possible. Parents do not have to spend a lot of time looking for a fun daytime activity. You can easily filter by category, duration of activity (e.g. 2 hours or all day), but also whether the parent needs to be present and for which group(s) the activity is suitable. Because Studiedagenradar collaborates with many schools in Amsterdam and local providers, they have been able to compile a very diverse range of extracurricular activities. When the parent has found a nice activity, after creating an account, they can immediately register their child(ren) to book the activities in a few clicks.

Creating the familiar feeling

To make the whole process, from searching for activities to registering a child, as easy as possible, we designed a custom-made webshop with Shopify. A lot of attention was paid here to creating a familiar environment for parents. Of course, you don't want to take a child just anywhere. Therefore, we kept the existing house style of Studiedagenradar. We also paid extra attention to safety by, for example, adding notes with extra information about the participating child when booking an extracurricular activity. Useful when allergies are involved, for example. Another unique aspect of the site is that a parent can indicate which school the child attends. The study days of this school are then automatically displayed with the activities and an activity can easily be booked.

This time, an innovative contribution to children's health by introducing them to various cultural, sports and educational activities. Because thanks to Studiedagenradar, a lot more children can take part in extracurricular activities during their study days.
