There’s an enormous amount of knowledge in companies, in care organisations and in education. One convenient way to transfer that knowledge is through e-learning. However, developing this is very time-consuming, and organisations are often dependent on external developers. In addition, the uptake and effectiveness of e-learning like this isn’t always very good. So how could we improve this?
Nicole van 't Wout, founder and CEO of Wisbits, knew there must be a way to make this easier and more fun. The result was the Wisbits app: an intuitive e-learning platform that allows people to create inspiring e-learning material for their target groups.
Education scientist and entrepreneur Nicole came up with the idea of Wisbits, which won Best MBK Idea of 2020. In collaboration with us at Innovattic, she developed an Android and iOS app, also called Wisbits, which allows users to follow small micro-learning courses, or ‘m-learning’. Such micro-learning is called a Wisbit and consists of small ‘bits’, separate learning elements: for example, a multiple choice question, video, text or a photo. Users see their progress and when they have passed each learning module. Alongside the app we also created a development platform, within which the administrators within each organisation create their m-learning. Here at Innovattic we’re also fans: we use the app ourselves to train new colleagues and product owners, and we think it’s very handy and instructive.
Our customers are extremely enthusiastic about the user-friendliness and UI design of the Wisbits development platform and app. The Innovattic team did a fantastic job here. All our wishes have been carefully processed into an optimal user experience for our customers. Now organisations can create mobile learning completely independently. There is no longer an IT person or specialised e-learning developer involved here. Entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and teachers now share their knowledge and expertise independently through Wisbits, whether with colleagues, customers, patients or students. This was our dream - because together, we make the world a bit better and smarter. The Innovattic team has helped turn this dream into reality. We enjoy working with them on the continued development of Wisbits. Also important: if something goes wrong, it is always acknowledged and handled properly. Our feedback is carefully processed. The Innovattic team is driven to deliver quality.
Nicole van ’t Wout, CEO blendIN solutions
We started with a kick-off. Based on the idea Nicole had in mind, we created user stories. We worked in sprints, according to the scrum method, and in this way we built the app and the development platform in small steps. We looked at the minimum requirements to create a beautiful app, and from there we worked out the idea a little further. When we were testing the app a lot technically, Nicole made sure that she tested the app's functionalities with a user testing panel. We then processed all the feedback that came from that. The most important thing was that people in organisations and teachers could put together m-learnings by themselves, as easily as possible. And - it worked!
