UMCU dashboard

UMC Utrecht has started a multi-year renovation of its buildings. In order to accommodate employees during this work, temporary accommodation is being leased for a longer time period. In the rented premises, there is - except in a few places - no building-specific climate control system. UMC Utrecht wanted to gain insight into the temperature, CO₂ and humidity in the work and meeting rooms over a period of three months. Together with organisation consultancy TwynstraGudde, we set to work to achieve this.

A clever sensor plan

To carry out the measurement of temperature, CO₂ and humidity, we made a sensor plan in which a distribution of sensors over the various rooms and floors was determined. All data collected by the sensors is presented in a dashboard in a comprehensive manner.

From data to decision-making

With our software, we ensure that the sensors are read out, linked to the cloud and automatically generated into a dashboard. Based on this management information, TwynstraGudde was able to provide UMC Utrecht with solid improvement advice after the measurement period. This included recommending to reduce the capacity of rooms with too high CO₂ values (or to enlarge the room), to make employees aware of the possibilities and advantages of natural ventilation on health and productivity and to install CO₂ detectors. By using data to understand where improvement opportunities lie for housing, we can make a positive impact in the built environment.
